Hyperbolic (@hyperbolic_labs) is a San Francisco GPU cloud platform for AI, led by CEO Jasper Zhang (ex Citadel Securities) and CTO Yuchen Jin, offering hourly H100/H200/B200 rentals with no quota, reserved clusters and an OpenAI compatible inference API.
On Oct 27 it announced an oversubscribed $30M Series A1 led by Walden Catalyst to build its Global Compute Grid, unifying fragmented GPU capacity so teams can access, manage, sell and orchestrate compute (announcement). Joining were Dell Technologies Capital, General Catalyst, Vista Equity Partners, Cambium Capital and Salience Capital, plus angels including Lip-Bu Tan, Robert F. Smith and others (details).
The company says 250,000+ builders use it, including Modal, Higgsfield, Daytona, HeyGen and Pika, and points to products Forge, Flux and Managed Kubernetes as steps toward liquid, programmable compute (customers). Total funding is now $50M including a $12M Series A in Dec 2024 co-led by Polychain and Variant, per the Oct 28 writeup.
