Binance confirmed a large hack from its hot wallets late Oct 29, after first onchain alerts around 20:41 UTC.

Its initial finding at 02:25 UTC Oct 30 says a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop was used to reach a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawals, with no wallet key leak found so far (Binance).

Binance puts estimated impact around $6.3B, with about $3B frozen onchain with partners (Binance, earlier update). Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino confirmed over $1.567B USDT frozen, and trackers put Circle's USDC freeze around $823M.

Onchain tallies cited about $5.6B outflows, including $1.45B BTC, $875M ETH, $1.57B USDT and $823M USDC (WatcherGuru). BleepingComputer reported up to $5.8B under review and Arkham-tracked wallets near $5.78B (report).

Deposits and withdrawals remain suspended while Binance freezes funds and works with law enforcement, and Binance says it will cover all losses via SAFU and company funds (Binance).

BNB was about $710 on Binance spot, down about 5% in 24h. The linked CoinDesk, Grady Booch and BleepingComputer posts only flagged the potential multi-billion hack, they add no separate confirmed loss figure.
