Trezor warned on Oct 30 that anyone who bought a Trezor from reseller CryptoBilis from March 2026 onward should move funds as soon as possible to a newly created wallet with a new seed, in its post.

The warning follows a credible report of a hardware implant in one Trezor Safe 5 bought from CryptoBilis in August 2026, which Trezor has not yet received for examination, and no CryptoBilis buyer has reported losing funds, per WuBlockchain.

Trezor says do not reuse the old seed in any hardware or software wallet, and restoring the old backup on a replacement does not fix it; if no other secure wallet is available, temporarily use a familiar software wallet or exchange, per its post.

If the CryptoBilis device is not yet set up, leave it uninitialized and do not enter an existing backup into it; do not try to check it by weighing or opening it, per DeFiPrime.

The warning covers every Trezor model bought through CryptoBilis in that window, though only one Safe 5 was reported; eligible buyers can get a replacement shipped by Trezor or a voucher and should keep the original device and contact Support, per DeFiPrime.

Trezor removed CryptoBilis as a reseller on Oct 9 after reports of tampered Ledger devices, and says four Trezor devices inspected so far showed no tampering, per WuBlockchain. It also warns scammers may pose as support by email, letter or phone and says support will never ask for a wallet backup, per DeFiPrime.
