Pyth DAO "100% Rule": did it pass, and what it means for PYTH
Yes, Pyth announced it on Oct 8, 2026. Every dollar the Pyth DAO receives from Pyth products now goes to the PYTH Reserve and is spent on open-market PYTH purchases. The previous cap was one third of the DAO's non-PYTH balance. The announcement says one standing authorization replaces the monthly vote. Guardrails are unchanged: every acquisition is published onchain and reported monthly. Pyth on X framed it as "Every dollar the Pyth DAO receives now buys PYTH each month". The Reserve holds 42M PYTH today.
Market now
Spot is about $0.079 across exchanges. Binance shows $0.0791 and +11.3% over 24h, with MEXC, Gate and KuCoin at $0.0790 to $0.0791. The sources do not tie the move to the news.
What it means for the token
PYTH gets a rules-based buyer. Buying no longer depends on a monthly vote or a one-third cap.
The size depends on revenue. Pyth's Q3 recap reported $11.49M active ARR, up 86.5% quarter over quarter (earlier finding, Q3 recap). As an illustration only, not a result: if all of that reached the DAO, it would be about $11.5M a year of buying. Against a market cap of roughly $600M to $630M, that is under 2% a year. ARR is not the same as DAO receipts.
What the sources do not establish
They do not give the vote result, the start date of purchases, the buyback wallet, or the exact DAO revenue figure.
