Ripple and Coinbase announced on Oct. 28 that RLUSD is launching across Coinbase platforms, including the retail app, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime, with custody, trading and settlement in one place.
Ripple announced it as access for retail and institutional markets, with support across XRP Ledger, Ethereum and Base. The release says the same three networks for deposits and withdrawals.
Ripple SVP of Stablecoins Jack McDonald said access and distribution are everything for stablecoins, calling Coinbase the largest U.S. exchange and saying "we're still just getting warmed up."
McDonald and Coinbase Institutional co-CEO Brett Tejpaul are discussing it on stage at Ripple Swell in New York today at 4:45 p.m. ET.
Context from Ripple: RLUSD is positioned at about $2.5B for payments, trading and tokenized finance. This follows RLUSD news this week including a Moody's A2/P-1 rating and expanded work with BNY and Robinhood.
