Animoca Brands × Franklin Templeton: tokenized RWAs for the NUVA vault marketplace. What it is and what is confirmed

On 9 October 2026 the two firms announced a strategic collaboration to bring tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) to NUVA, the Animoca Brands-backed vault marketplace. It is an announced program. The sources give no launch date, no named assets and no amounts.

What was announced

According to the Franklin Templeton Digital Assets post, which carries the press release, the collaboration extends NUVA beyond its existing Provenance blockchain-based assets. It is meant to open access to institutional-grade assets from a broader base of issuers. The release calls it a strategic program to accelerate institutional adoption of tokenized RWAs. It also says the firms will explore co-designing tokenized cultural assets. Animoca Brands posted the same news and links its full announcement.

About NUVA

Per the release, NUVA was co-incubated by Animoca Brands and NUVA Labs and launched in May 2026. Its vaults unlock access to assets on the Provenance Blockchain, which the release says held over US$30 billion in total value locked as of 24 September 2026.

Quote

Yat Siu, Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman, said the partnership lets Animoca "integrate institutional-grade RWAs directly into NUVA's vault architecture". He added that NUVA is "expanding how institutional investors access RWAs".

Research series

The firms also launched a four-part co-authored research series on tokenization for institutional investors. The release places it at franklintempleton.com/tokenization.

Context: NUVA's HOME vault

One day earlier, CoinDesk reported that NUVA launched HOME, a vault of US home equity lines of credit including Figure-originated loans. It is open to eligible non-U.S. investors from 1 USDC and targets a 7% annual yield. CoinDesk also reports:

  • Redemptions are expected to take about two U.S. business days.

  • A 5% liquidity sleeve covers smaller redemptions.

  • A first-loss equity segment of roughly 5% is meant to absorb defaults. NUVA's CEO says it does not remove credit and liquidity risk.

HOME is a separate product from the Franklin Templeton collaboration. The sources do not link the two.

What is not established

The sources do not say which Franklin Templeton products or tokens will go into NUVA, when they will go live, or whether any capital has been committed.
