On Oct 31 THORChain halted trading after an Ethereum one block reorg at 11:34 UTC caused it to pay out 10 ETH that a vault never received, according to THORChain on X.
The 10 ETH deposit sat in the dropped block and never landed on the canonical chain, but THORChain had already credited it. Its automatic solvency checker caught the shortfall and halted ETH swaps, and within about two minutes node operators halted ETH transaction signing so no further ETH could leave the vaults.
Node operators then halted all chains as a precaution while core developers investigated. The user returned the 10 ETH to make the vault solvent again.
Still trading per that post: AVAX, BASE, RUNE, XRPL. Halted: ATOM, BCH, BSC, BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC, SOL, TRON, ZEC. Nodes were to re-enable chains as deemed safe. Core developers were working on fixes.
The claim in the forwarded Telegram intro linking the halt to slowing Binance hackers is not in the THORChain statement excerpt available; the stated cause is the reorg accounting bug.
