Payward, the parent company of Kraken, plans to become the first CFTC-regulated deployer on Hyperliquid HIP-3* markets to offer perpetual futures to US clients, HyperliquidX announced on Oct 26, 2026.
Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward's CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would create, own and administer the markets and clear and settle the contracts, while NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward's CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts.
HIP-3* is strictly additive and optional deployer functionality for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade, centered on an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or sub-deployers. Existing markets remain unchanged.
Hyperliquid says it is neutral infrastructure, with deployers as independent operators retaining control and responsibility, and that the initial release is on testnet with preliminary specs. Payward had previewed the build on Sept 16, 2026 as "permissioned Hyperliquid HIP-3* markets for US clients."
