Coinbase says it has not suffered a data breach.
The company says analytics vendor Amplitude experienced a security incident that exposed a small subset of Coinbase customer contact data, alongside data of other Amplitude customers, according to CoinbaseSupport.
That contact data exposure is what some users reported as a Coinbase breach, which Coinbase denies, as reported by Cointelegraph and DefiantNews.
Coinbase says it found no evidence of unauthorized access to Coinbase systems, and customer funds were not impacted.
It says it is notifying impacted customers and regulatory agencies in line with legal obligations, per its statement.
The sources do not name the exact data fields beyond contact data, the number affected, or the incident date.
