Morgan Stanley says it is among the first banks to tokenize U.S. equities and Treasurys through DTCC’s Tokenization Service. The bank has not disclosed which securities or how much it tokenized, according to The Block’s report as summarized by BredoStrategy.

DTCC’s service creates digital representations of securities held at DTC, retaining the same CUSIP and rights, with conversion back to traditional form and transfers among registered participants’ digital wallets. DTCC launched it on October 28; the stated uses include collateral, liquidity and capital efficiency. The report says 20 participants signed access agreements.

This is separate from Morgan Stanley’s planned support for tokenized equities on its alternative trading system in Q1 2027, which it had described as dependent on tokenized products becoming available. The Block’s October report
