CZ replied to Elon Musk that it was a bad time to troll and asked him to stop, then pointed to Binance's $500 million check into Musk's Twitter takeover, saying the SPCX shares from it are now worth more than $1 billion.
His rough math post on Oct 30 says the hack was above six billion dollars, with about three billion frozen and over one billion in the SAFU fund, leaving a gap of about two billion. He wrote that Binance holds over one billion in SPCX alone, so the remaining gap is still painful but manageable.
The trolling context in crypto posts is Musk posting "Everyday is Zeroday" plus emoji reactions like grimace and fire after the Binance hack news, which CZ and others read as mocking during withdrawals pause (TheMoonShow, Cryptoc80166370).
On the hack itself, onchain trackers put the drain at about 5.6 to 5.77 billion across Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron, with Tether and Circle freezing about 2.38 to 2.54 billion in USDT and USDC. Unfrozen amounts cited include about 18,270 BTC, about 195k to 197k ETH and several hundred million in USDT (Wonka0x, ftosol). Binance said user funds are safe and it will cover losses, while the method cited is an EIP-7702 delegation of Hot Wallet 14 to a contract funded via Tornado Cash.
Separately, SpaceX held its full 18,712 BTC through Q3 2026 per Oct 21 reports, worth about 1.57 billion at the time, and SPCX traded near 145 to 163 in October quotes. Coverage status beyond CZ's post and the freeze figures is not confirmed in these sources.
