Google will preview Multi-Party Compute (MPC), a custody security product for financial institutions holding and moving crypto and tokenized assets, at its first digital assets symposium in New York, CoinDesk reports, flagged today by WhaleInsider.

The design splits the private key across hardened systems, so no single machine holds the whole key. One share can sit in Google Cloud, one on the bank hardware, one with another cloud provider, with policy checks on limits, recipient addresses and approvals before signing. Google says it cannot access client keys in the clear.

Commercial launch is planned for early 2027. The product is now in private preview, being tested by several large financial institutions Google did not name, while parent Alphabet already uses it to secure its own assets on Ethereum and Solana.
