Elon Musk warned Oct. 25 that debt markets have "almost entirely shut off" funding for companies without substantial non AI data center revenue, in a reply to Chamath.
He said SpaceX closed $40B in GPU debt but is investment grade with Starlink and launch revenue, unlike most neoclouds.
He predicted "guppy-level death and consolidation" for the 200+ neoclouds, with only a few surviving.
The posts amplifying it added 2027 data center delays, idle GPUs, thin capitalization and hyperscaler competition, as in Polymarket and macropaperr, but those details are commentators' claims, not Musk's wording.
