Payward, the Kraken parent financial infrastructure group, said its affiliated fund Digital Asset Special Investments I, LP and its clients bought an undisclosed amount of AAVE via secondary market purchases, with more buys possible. The announcement, published by Aave Labs on Nov. 5, 2026, says the push was led by Payward Asset Management and cites rising institutional demand for top-tier DeFi and onchain credit infrastructure.
Payward VP Gurpreet Oberoi framed it as long-term conviction in onchain credit markets, while Aave materials describe Aave as the largest onchain lending network with over $30 billion in net deposits, $33 billion cited in the post, and $12 billion in active loans, governed by AAVE holders. The WuBlockchain summary and Telegram relays on Nov. 5 repeat the same terms: undisclosed stake, secondary market, possible follow-on buys.
AAVE itself did not rally on the news. Spot quotes polled Nov. 5 were around $125.71 on Kraken to $125.97 on Binance, down about 6.6% in 24h, with GeckoTerminal showing about $126.42 and $5.9M in 24h volume. The size, price, wallets and timing of Payward/client purchases were not disclosed in the sources found.
