Indodax paused all rupiah and crypto deposits and withdrawals on Oct. 29 as a precaution after detecting more cyberattack attempts.
The notice started as system maintenance around 05:24 UTC, followed by updates at 08:45 UTC and 15:38 UTC. CEO William Sutanto said the security and engineering teams found the source of the problem and are fixing it, with reopening after checks finish.
Indodax and Sutanto say no members were affected, and rupiah balances, crypto assets and user data remain safe, with no unauthorized withdrawals or leaks detected so far. No reopening time was given.
Context: Indodax was hacked for about $25.2M on Sept. 10, 2024, according to DefiLlama's hack registry, which some chatter today references. Trading appears to remain available while transfers are closed.
