Yes, Binance was drained on Oct 29 in what looks like the largest crypto theft on record. Binance now estimates about $6.3B moved, with about $3B frozen on chain so far, and says the outflows stopped when withdrawals were paused (estimate, frozen total).
Early tallies cited over $5.5B across Ethereum, Bitcoin, Tron and other chains, versus about $1.5B in the February 2025 Bybit hack, so the $5.5 to $6B posts describe the same incident before Binance raised the estimate to $6.3B. Tether froze over 1.567B USDT and Circle over 800M USDC, with Ripple, WLFI and Arbitrum also helping.
Binance says entry was via a compromised DevOps laptop reaching a service container, with no private key leak found so far, then later updated that investigators found additional breach points. That cause is still preliminary, not a final post mortem.
Binance says user funds are safe and all losses will be covered from SAFU and company funds, deposits are normal, and withdrawals were expected back in about 45 to 48 hours (update). For a business account, do not move funds through links in replies, use only official Binance channels until withdrawals resume.
