Schroders is tokenizing its Schroder International Selection Fund Emerging Market Bonds strategy on Solana via Centrifuge, reported by CoinDesk on Nov. 4.
Investors will hold onchain shares of a feeder fund that invests into Schroders' core EM bond fund, with the share price tracking NAV. The base fund itself does not move onchain. Schroders has about $1.1T in AUM, this is its Solana debut and its second tokenized product after the SOAR onchain share class of a USD money-market fund approved in Ireland in August.
Why it matters: it moves tokenized fixed income beyond cash and T-bills into actively managed bonds with credit and FX risk. Solana Foundation's Nick Ducoff framed it as moving "beyond tokenized cash-products", Centrifuge's Anil Sood said EM debt brings "a fundamentally different source of risk and return", per the Telegram summaries (BredoStrategy, Capital News).
Not disclosed: fund size, tokenization volume, feeder jurisdiction, eligible investors, minimums, and launch date. This is an announced plan, not a live product. No official Schroders or Centrifuge X posts were retrievable, X was locked at check time.
Price context: SOL quoted around $96.5-96.6 on Nov. 4, up about 3.4-3.5% in 24h, e.g. Binance spot $96.56, Kraken spot $96.47.
