It understands what is on screen, takes action across apps and writes naturally for workday tasks, from interpreting technical drawings and drafting proposals to filling forms and editing video (post, Design Arena).

OpenAI says it substantially outperforms GPT-5.6 Terra on Agents’ Last Exam, matches GPT-6 Astra at one-tenth the price per token, and finishes tasks over 3x faster on average than both Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol (post). Standard API prices are 50% lower than GPT-5.6 Terra (Design Arena).

It is rolling out now to all Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, plus API as gpt-6.1-terra (post), and is also live on Design Arena (post).
