It works with ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Muse and other tools that support MCP, plus a Coinbase CLI where MCP is not supported, according to Coinbase and the agents page. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says users talk to the agent, approve trades or allow actions, with limits and controls, alongside a first-party Coinbase Advisor (post).

Coinbase says users choose which portfolio the agent can access, can require approval before trades, stay within Coinbase safety limits, cannot send funds off Coinbase, and can disconnect anytime (post). In the US, an agent can also buy premium research and market data with small USDC payments via x402, according to the agents page.
