Greece's parliament approved on November 5 its first comprehensive crypto tax framework, per CoinDesk via The Moon Show.

It takes effect January 1, 2027: 10% capital gains tax on annual crypto gains above €500, with the full gain taxable once over the threshold, and spending crypto on goods or services also taxable.

Staking, crypto lending and DeFi liquidity income are taxed separately at 15% as interest income.

Annual crypto losses above €500 can be carried forward for five years against future crypto gains.

Investors can declare past gains within 12 months of publication without fines or interest if they pay within 60 days of filing.

The Finance Ministry says crypto to crypto swaps are not taxable, but parliament's Scientific Service warned the draft wording could still cover them, with implementation and audit directives to follow.
