Kazakhstan's AIFC Court barred Coinbase, HTX (Huobi Global), BingX, BitMart, Bitcoin.com and WEEX from offering digital asset services in Kazakhstan without an AIFC licence and from unauthorised advertising of those services, according to regulator AFSA (AFSA release). The court also ordered geographic restriction of access to their services through mobile apps, with the orders to be sent to Google Play and Apple App Store operators (AFSA release). AFSA said the case followed warnings to more than 20 platforms in 2025 and court filings in early 2026 against those that kept operating without a licence (AFSA release). Nine other platforms voluntarily geo restricted their apps in Kazakhstan, and AFSA withdrew claims against them, while seven more said they intend to seek an AFSA licence (AFSA release). The court said unlicensed services undermine the AIFC framework and create unfair competition for licensed firms bearing AML, customer checks and supervision costs (AFSA release). AFSA also warned that clients of unlicensed platforms lack protections on asset safeguarding, disclosure, complaints and dispute resolution (AFSA release). The move was flagged the same day by Cointelegraph (post). AFSA said monitoring continues with the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the national digital asset regulator since May 2026 (AFSA release).
