Binance was drained of about $5.3-6.3B on Oct 29 around 20:24 UTC, starting with hot wallet 14 in 0x53bd…e2f3 for ~167,464 ETH plus ~1.615B USDT and 60+ tokens to 0x5227…2f8c, followed by 28,000 ETH and ~780M USDC moves. Trackers cited in the posts put it at $2.29B USDT, ~17,985-18,270 BTC (~$1.45B), ~$767-823M USDC and ~$451M ETH across Ethereum, Bitcoin, Tron and L2s, described by world_xyz, inno_sol and glassnode as the largest hack ever.
Tether froze ~$1.567B USDT and Circle froze ~$823M USDC, with Binance saying ~$3B is now frozen onchain with partners, up from ~$2.54B late Oct 29. Still movable are ETH (~197K ETH), BTC and Tron assets.
Binance says a compromised DevOps engineer laptop gave access to a service container to submit withdrawals, no private key leak found, authorization revoked. Deposits and withdrawals remain suspended, it is working with law enforcement, and says all losses will be covered via SAFU and company funds with user funds safe. CZ posted it "does look like a hack" with funds covered.
Market shock was BTC under $78-79k with ~$627M liquidated in an hour. No new onchain move proving the drain is still ongoing was named in our sources after the $200M follow-on drain noted Oct 29.
