Samsung Wallet launched stablecoin accounts for eligible Galaxy users in the US, supporting Circle's USDC on Solana directly in the wallet app.

Users can buy, hold, send and receive USDC without a separate crypto app or private keys, plus send to other US users, to compatible external wallets and exchanges, and to bank accounts in more than 60 countries with payout in local currency.

The rollout covers about 82 million compatible devices (Android 13+, user 18+ with ID verification and biometrics). Custody is by Bastion, with Coinbase as sub-custodian via Coinbase Prime Vault.

Samsung charges no transfer fee for USDC sends, card top-ups carry 4%, bank withdrawals carry a variable fee. New York is excluded, and tap in-store and online payments are planned as a next step.

Announced Oct. 7 for the last week of October, it went live Nov. 5, per Samsung Mobile Press and Decrypt.
