Gopax halted withdrawals at 2:55 p.m. KST (11:55 MSK) on Nov. 6, 2026, then halted trading at 3:53 p.m. KST (12:53 MSK) after one threatening email from someone claiming to be a hacker.

The halt was preventive, not a confirmed hack: Gopax told Digital Asset there was no hack damage and no hack attempt yet, and told Herald the email's authenticity was unverified.

All unfilled orders were canceled, and hot-wallet assets are being moved to cold wallets, per Herald and Yonhap.

Normal withdrawals via site/app are unavailable; users must apply via customer support for manual processing, which takes longer.

No timeline for resumption was given; Gopax said it will move assets first, then verify security. The move followed a regulator recommendation on asset protection cited in its notice.
