BNB Chain updated its docs on Oct 22 with a plan for a new high-performance EVM L1, name TBD, described by CZ as “Multiple chains, one coins”.
It runs in parallel with BSC via a native bridge, not as a BSC replacement, with BSC keeping existing DeFi and apps while the new L1 targets high-frequency trading, onchain order books, perps and payments, per Wu Blockchain and Cointelegraph.
No new token will be issued. BNB remains the gas, staking and governance asset, so added activity is framed as incremental demand for BNB.
Target specs are about 200ms blocks, about 20ms pre-confirmation and sub-second ordering. These are design targets, not proven mainnet results.
An internal multi-validator devnet is already running. Public testnet is planned for end of 2026 and mainnet for early 2027.
BNB was quoted around $737 to $738 on Oct 26, with Binance spot at $738.09, down about 1.1% on the day. I could not independently read the BNB Chain docs page text, so specs and timeline here follow the docs as reported by those X posts.
