Chainlink has put S&P Global Ratings' Vault Risk Assessments (VRA) onchain, live on Base, announced Oct 28.
S&P's VRA data is fetched and published via Chainlink Runtime Environment through DataLink, then a decentralized oracle network reaches consensus and writes it onchain, as Chainlink posted.
VRA is S&P's forward-looking view of loss risk for a depositor in a specific lending vault: portfolio credit quality, liquidity mismatch, curator, protocol, blockchain, security and governance risk. S&P says it is not a credit rating or a yield assessment.
The pitch: lending vaults work like managed fixed income funds and deposits grew from about $1.5B to about $10B in two years, so a risk score next to the deposit button gives institutions in-app due diligence and lets developers compare vaults and track risk changes.
This extends the earlier Chainlink x S&P work that put Stablecoin Stability Assessments onchain. S&P had launched VRA on Oct 4, per its Oct 5 post, and previewed the method in an Oct 28 webinar invite.
The release does not name which vaults are already scored.
