Ripple and Coinbase announced a partnership on Oct 28, 2026 to bring Ripple USD (RLUSD) to Coinbase.
Ripple said RLUSD is coming to the largest U.S. crypto exchange, expanding access for retail and institutional markets, with support across XRP Ledger, Ethereum and Base. Coinbase Institutional said RLUSD is now supported on Coinbase and Coinbase Prime, with 1:1 conversion from USD.
Ripple SVP Jack McDonald said RLUSD is live on Coinbase, bringing trading, settlement and custody to a massive retail and institutional base. Details shared from Ripple's announcement say customers can trade and manage RLUSD on Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and the retail app, dollars and supported dollar stablecoins convert 1:1 into RLUSD, deposits and withdrawals run on XRP Ledger, Base and Ethereum, while Global Exchange access including RLUSD as collateral comes later.
The viral RippleXrpie post framed it as XRP and RLUSD coming to Coinbase for retail and institutional investors, and Cointelegraph summarized it as Ripple partnering with Coinbase to bring RLUSD to its retail app, Prime and Exchange. The official announcements name RLUSD, not a new XRP listing.
