Intelligent UI in ChatGPT: what it is, what it adds, and how it is rolling out

Intelligent UI is a GPT-6 feature that lets ChatGPT build answers from text, visuals and interactive elements, instead of text only. It reached paid plans on 7 October 2026 and began reaching Free and Go on 8 October.

What it is

OpenAI's announcement says GPT-6 can compose a response from text, visuals and interactive elements, and chooses how they fit together based on the question. Michelle Pokrass of OpenAI describes it as "a bet on model intelligence": GPT-6 fills the canvas with visual and interactive components. She says OpenAI built tools so the interfaces are token efficient, stream in instantly and match ChatGPT's design language. Mark Chen says every ChatGPT completion can now create a custom UI.

What it adds

• OpenAI lists graphics and charts that explain an idea, plus tappable buttons, forms and interactive experiences used directly in the conversation.

• It also describes visuals that bring concepts to life, interactive answers you can use to customize a response, and tools built in the conversation, such as a game or a budget-planning calculator.

• The news wire summary from kimmonismus adds clickable diagrams and calculators. Its example is a dinner plan where changing the guest count updates the shopping quantities.

• The "cards", "photo sheets" and "dishes in images" in the Spanish post are that account's wording. OpenAI's own posts name charts, diagrams, buttons, forms, calculators and games.

Rollout

• 7 October: GPT-6 with Intelligent UI rolled out globally to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise.

• From 8 October: Free and Go users start getting it, per the same OpenAI post. Several posts confirm Free and Go got it on 8 October.

• Models: GPT-6 Sol on paid tiers and GPT-6 Luna on Free and Go.

• Scope: it applies to the Chat tab only. The models behind Work and Codex are not changing in this release.

• Free users' access is staged ("starting tomorrow"), so the Spanish post's "for everyone, with global rollout since yesterday" is roughly right but simplified.

Open point

The claim that none of this can be embedded in your own site or used outside ChatGPT is the Spanish account's. The sources I found do not confirm or contradict it. By my own knowledge, not checked: these interfaces are generated inside ChatGPT conversations, and this release has no API sheet. One report says this week is the ChatGPT rollout, not an API price sheet.
