Coinbase's "Champions" event is a live, in-person perps trading tournament in Singapore (Token 2049 week), with 10 traders and one winner who takes $150,000 and the Coinbase Champion title.

What it is

Coinbase's event page calls it the Token 2049 Champions Cup: "10 of the world's best traders. $150,000 on the line. One winner." It describes the event as Coinbase's first live, esports-style perps trading tournament, streamed globally on October 8, 2026 at 8:45 PM SGT. The page shows live standings by profit and loss in USD.

Who competes

The page names Ansem, Jez, Intern and HDF "and more", described as some of the biggest names on CT (crypto Twitter). The other six names are not listed in the sources. @coinbase said the competition was officially live, "streamed from Singapore", with "some of the biggest traders on CT".

The $150k prize

Brian Armstrong posted at 12:32 UTC on Oct 8 that the competition was going live and that "in an hour one trader will be crowned the Coinbase Champion, winning $150k." Coinbase also showed a champion belt "ready for tonight's winner". The sources do not say how the winner is scored beyond the profit and loss standings on the page.

Fan voting

Viewers can vote in the Coinbase app under the Champions tab. Coinbase said voters who back the winner can enter for prizes including the Ultimate Coinbase Fan Experience in Las Vegas. The official rules say the prizes are USDC or exclusive experiences, that only eligible votes for the winning trader qualify, and that voting is free. Coinbase added that voting is available in certain geos only.

Not established

The sources do not give the final result, the other six competitors, or the exact trading rules and starting capital.
