Binance says the Oct 29 hot-wallet incident affected around $6.3B across chains, trackers put hacker-linked wallets at $5.6-5.9B, making it potentially the largest crypto hack ever.
On Ethereum the attacker bundled 50 EIP-7702 authorizations against Binance hot wallet 14, one matched its nonce and installed sweeper code, then one transaction drained about 167k ETH plus 1.6B USDT and dozens of tokens; other chains saw ordinary signed withdrawals. Binance says entry may have been a compromised DevOps laptop reaching a service container, with no evidence of private-key leak, and promises a post-mortem.
Binance reports around $3B verified frozen, including Tether over 1.567B USDT, Circle over 800M USDC, Ripple about $200M in RLUSD per Yi He, World Liberty/BitGo $27M USD1 plus about $2M WLFI, and Arbitrum Security Council $30.5M in ARB/ETH.
Deposits are normal, withdrawals remain paused pending a withdrawal-service revamp expected within 48 hours, with Binance Alpha also suspended.
Binance and CZ say user funds are safe and all losses will be covered from SAFU and company funds.
