The Bank of Russia allowed non-qualified investors access to three cryptocurrencies: BTC, ETH and USDT.
The directive takes effect on 17 November, from which point exchanges may admit these assets to public circulation.
Terms: non-qualified investors can buy them through intermediaries, brokers, crypto exchangers or managers, with a limit of 300,000 rubles per year with each intermediary. Only the most liquid assets were admitted, selected by market cap, average daily trading volume and at least 5 years of price history on foreign venues.
Qualified investors can buy all cryptocurrencies traded on exchange and OTC markets without amount limits. All investors regardless of status must pass testing and acknowledge crypto risks before trading.
