BlackRock, SBI Holdings and Startale signed an MOU to explore linking tokenized money market funds with JPYSC, Japan's trust-type yen stablecoin.
Startale confirmed the signing on Oct. 27, saying the three will lay groundwork for onchain finance from Japan to the world (post). Cointelegraph, cryptorover and Coin Bureau reported the same MOU terms within minutes (post, post, post).
This is exploration only, not a live integration. Posters stress the word MOU and that tech, distribution and regulation still need study (post).
JPYSC was issued by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank and is described as Japan's first trust-type yen stablecoin, with posters citing about 20.7B tokens or around $130M in circulation (post). Startale founder Sota Watanabe linked the original SBI release PDF (post). The PDF itself would not load directly.
The $15 trillion figure in the posts is BlackRock's claimed total assets, not money committed to this pilot.
